This page describes what this website collects, what happens to it, and how to tell us to stop. It is written to be read rather than to be technically survivable, so if anything here is unclear, ask and it will be explained plainly.

What is collected right now

At the time of writing, nothing. No analytics service is connected, no advertising service is connected, and no tracking of any kind runs on this site. The cookie notice you may have seen appears anyway, deliberately, so the choice is available from the first day rather than appearing later without warning.

What will be collected when analytics are switched on

Website analytics, and only that: which pages are opened, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of device was used. It is used to understand which pages are worth keeping and which ones nobody reads. Advertising and personalisation signals are switched off permanently rather than left at their defaults, so this site does not build an advertising profile of you and has nothing to sell to anyone who would.

Your choice, and how to change it

Texas law treats analytics of this kind as something you may opt out of rather than something you must agree to in advance, so the notice offers Accept and Decline with equal weight and neither is preselected or hidden. Declining is remembered, and nothing analytics-related loads on later visits.

You can change your mind at any point using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page. It reopens the same notice, and a previous decision does not lock you into anything.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it is honoured automatically. You do not have to interact with the notice at all: nothing analytics-related loads, and the notice does not appear. This is checked on each visit rather than stored, so turning the signal off returns you to the ordinary choice rather than leaving you opted out forever.

If you are a Texas resident

The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you the right to ask what personal data about you is held, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling. This site does not engage in targeted advertising, does not sell personal data, and does not profile visitors, so those three are already the case rather than something you have to request.

To make any of the other requests, use the contact form. Tell us what you are asking for and enough detail to find the relevant records. You will get a reply, and you will not be treated differently for having asked.

The contact form

What you type is passed to the form handler and emailed to us so that we can reply to you. It is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone outside the business except the form handler that carries it. If you would rather your message were deleted once the conversation is finished, say so in the message and it will be.
